The Ancient Greeks discovered Mars. That included Carl Sagan, Nikola Tesla, Johannes Kepler, Ptolemy and Percival Lowell. It is known that Tycho Brahe, a Danish astronomer made accurate calculations of the position of Mars as early as 1576. Tycho Brahe was born: December 14, 1546 in Denmark and died: October 24, 1601 in Prague.

Mars was named after the Romans' Ancient God of war. Because Mars is red, it reminds the Romans of bloodshed and war. There is no peace between the Romans and the Greeks.
